Futures.Lab
As the World's First Design·AI University, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) wanted to educate the public and prospective students on what sets SUTD apart from other universities.
We created Futures.Lab, an experiential space showcasing student-built innovations, where people could conduct experiments and get a glimpse of student life in SUTD.

We developed the branding, key visual, space and interaction for all six showcases.
LAB 01
STICK'EM
Developed by SUTD Alumni, STICK'EM is a low cost STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts & Maths) education kit, enabling world class learning materials for everyone.
To showcase the flexibility of the STICK'EM kit, we built a sandbox and a race track where visitors could put their own creations to the test in a race against each other.

FORMAS.AI
Formas.AI is a text & drawing to image AI built specifically for architects, interior designers and real estate teams to generate production-grade visual outputs with greater speed, control and precision.
We made use of their tech to create a booth where people could envision their version of Singapore's future, transforming their sketches and prompts into photorealistic 3d models.

VISIONFIT
VisionFit blends gamification with advanced technology to ensure proper form and precise technique while providing users the tools and motivation to stay committed and hit their fitness goals.
We transformed the tech into a booth where you can actively see how it works and put in a little work out whilst at it.
LAB 04
OBSTAX MINI
ObstaX Mini is a lightweight AI pendant created for blind and visually impaired users. With a single button and spoken feedback, it helps you make sense of the world around you, from public transport and everyday objects to unfamiliar indoor and outdoor environments.
We created a blind simulation box for visitors to use ObstaX Mini's computer vision and audio synthesis to figure out what is within the box.
LAB 05
APRONFLOW.OPT
Apronflow.OPT is an AI that uses ground data in airports to optimize resource management, saving time and increasing efficiency.
We built a simplified game replicating busy airport turnarounds, showing how AI optimises ground operations by up to 20%.
LAB 06
Apexcares
ApexCARES enhances dementia care by addressing real challenges like language barriers, onboarding overload and communication gaps between nurses and residents. It features AI-powered tools such as slurred speech-to-text transcription and translation, and the Apex Virtual Assistant (AVA), which provides real-time, resident-specific care suggestions based on history and best practices.
We simulated conversations between caregivers and dementia patients in a gamified experience, showing how ApexCARES bridges both language and cognitive barriers.
At the end of each station, visitors get a digital takeaway on their account, allowing them to view their scores, download their reports and share them on social platforms.
